Kashigata is a traditional wooden tool for making Japanese dry sweets called Higashi. It is made of sakura (cherry wood) and seasoned for about 3 years before carving. Kashigata artisans are disappearing nowadays, which makes kashigata molds a sought-after collectible. It depicts a couple of sakura (cherry) flowers.
