Wakame salt is a Japanese specialty made from salt-preserved wakame from Naruto, a place in Shikoku famous for its seaweed.
Once carefully powdered, the salt-preserved Naruto wakame seaweed becomes an excellent substitute for regular salt - just like the more famous gomashio - and can deliciously season a large variety of dishes such as rice, onigiri, soups, salads and much more, not only bringing great flavour, but also the fibers and minerals of the seaweed. It contains 50% less sodium chloride than regular table salt, therefore represents a great way for reducing salt in the diet, while retaining taste. 45 g. Keep in a cool dry place, away from light.
