Figment of the collaboration between Masanori Oji and Arita’s Touetsugama historic kiln, this plate serie blends an everyday-use, essential esthetic with traditional white porcelain techniques, using Amakusa Touseki, a porcelain stone mined from the mountains of the Amakusa region. Thanks to Touetsugama’s unique craftsmanship, it retains the natural off-white colour of the clay, enhanced by the clarity of the straw ash glaze.
Made in white porcelain, using Amakusa Touseki, a porcelain stone mined from the mountains of the Amakusa region, ground to a fine clay slurry and stirred for 20 hours to create an exceptionally smooth and evenly textured slip.
