Although it may seem like a normal dish cloth, this is another piece of Japanese history.
Back in the late '50s, when specific dish cloths didn't exist in Japan, Kurashi No Techo (KT), a notorious publishing company, conducted a survey between homemakers asking them what the ideal dish cloth would be. The result showed that four factors were key: water-absorbing power, durability, flexibility and the absence of nap.
Nittobo started a collaboration with KT to create a new dish cloth to satisfy these requisites and this dish cloth was created out of a meticulous selection of materials, texture and more, together with six months of tests directly on the field.
More than 60 years later, after winning a Long Life Good Design Award, this is still an unparalleled achievement and one of the most beloved and diffused dish cloth in Japan: try it and never go back!
