A blend of single malt and single grain whiskeys produced at Nikka’s Yoichi and Miyagikyo Distilleries, Nikka from the barrel embodies the expertise of the Nikka blenders and it's one of the best examples of Japanese whiskey.
Over 100 whiskeys, aged in various bourbon barrels and sherry butts are blended together to create its unique flavour: notably balanced and elegant, the colorful palette of whiskies combines for tremendous depth of flavor.
Tasters can identify an astounding array of notes: soft, sweet butterscotch and orange peel meet poached pears and stone fruits; earthiness appears as dried autumn leaves, coffee, old oak, and tobacco; chili pepper, allspice, cloves and a lovely ginger note adds on the spicy notes, with wisps of smoke and sea salt.
