This is one of the earliest design Kensuke Serizawa developed few years after he first encountered Okinawan textile - a discovery that changed his approach to textile design forever.
Made around 1930, well before he was designated as a Living National Treasure (人間国宝), it represents a collection of fruits and vegetables depicted into white trapezoids, over a red background color, inspired by the red nuance he discovered in Okinawa.
Made of high quality Shantung cotton, it measures 43x43cm.
