A multipurpose glass container, with a steel handle, great for storing pickles, vegetables, fruit, pasta and more, ideal for carrying out fermentation experiments for haute cuisine preparations. But there's more. In Japan this container represents a real institution, to the point that it has earned a nickname: "umebin". It is in fact the traditional container for preparing and preserving the popular umeshu (梅酒), the Japanese liqueur obtained by steeping ume fruits (the so-called Japanese apricot, a plum still unripe and green) in alcohol, generally shōchū (焼 酎), and crystallized cane sugar. In 2012, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this cult item, this limited version was produced, which contains a steel ladle and reproduces the original 60s and 70s shape, in the midst of Shōwa period, when Japan was at the peak of its economic boom.
