Nicknamed Yacho (野帳, field notebook in Japanese), this sketchbook has been originally released in 1959, ten years after the enactment of the first National Survey Act in Japan, to make surveyors and civil engineers' surveying operations across Japan easier and more streamlined, thanks to its compact and functional design, which fits perfectly the pockets of both work clothes and everyday clothing and allowed to use it with one hand, taking advantage of its durable hard cover as a support for writing.
So well designed it was, that it has remained unchanged ever since, with the same hard, thick resin cover, superior paper quality and a real thread-bound book block: a true classic that incredibly made it to these days.
Paper.
A perfect pocket sketchbook, ready to throw in a bag and head out. An exceptional outdoor sketchbook, thanks to its stiff resin cover, water and dirt resistent.
