A good matcha is judged by its chasen. The quality of this essential tool for preparing matcha tea allows for the optimal extraction of all the antioxidants, amino acids, and caffeine present in the mixture of hot water and tea, incorporating the right amount of air and preventing the formation of lumps.
Handcrafted in Nara from carefully selected bamboo canes and made according to traditional techniques, the chasen kyakuhonryuu, as light as a feather (10g), has about 80 bristles that are remarkably strong and elastic, offering double or triple the lifespan of similar whisks made outside of Japan.
After use, it is recommended to rinse gently and let it air dry with the bristles facing downward.
