Furikake is simply the ingredient all Japanese jazz up their plain bowl of rice or their onigiri rice ball, just sprinkling it over rice and letting it enhance it with many delicious flavours, while, the the same time, adding useful nutrients, such as protein and calcium.
Tarako furikake is one of Japan's favourite rice seasonings flavoured with umami rich fish roe.
Made with carefully selected ingredients by the same company founded by the inventor of furikake itself, Suekichi Yoshimaru, it is a blend of sesame seeds, bright pink dried fish roe, forest green seaweed, and bright green tea powder granules: just a teaspoon over a bowl of plain rice is enough to transform it with a splash of colour and intense, umami sea-salt flavours.
Beside rice dishes, it can also be used to season tofu and side dishes. 60g.
Starch, white sesame seed, pollack roe (fish) (10%), granular soy protein, salt, lactose (milk), glucose, flavour enhancers (E621, E640, E635, E331, E509, E327), flavourings, egg yolk powder, dried kelp, hydrolized protein (soy beans, wheat), sugar, colours (E120, E160c, E160a, E101), yeast extract, kelp extract, aonori seaweed (green laver), green tea powder, acid E330, antioxidant E300. Once you've tried it, there's no going back to the simple bowl of white rice again!
