Enter the world of East meets West, a Nanban project which aims to bring together designers, illustrators, artists and manufacturers between Europe and Japan, to connect Eastern and Western traditions, creativity and ideas and to create unique items through their meeting.
An ever-developing project, that grows one piece at the time: adding today a new tenugui, designed by milanese graphic studio La Tigre. Inspired by Hakuja, the white snake dear to the Japanese for its auspiciousness, the drawing that decorates the tenugui moves sinuously, in a continuous play of light and shadow, on a light blue background that evokes dreamy atmospheres, with infinite references to the rich mythologies of the Rising Sun.
A new sensational outcome of the ever-evolving research that La Tigre carries out on the strength of the sign originating from the use of shapes based on the chromatic contrast.
