After more than 150 years dedicated to the production of sake and shōchu, in 1996 the renowned Kiuchi Brewery, founded in 1823 in Kōnosu, in the ancient Hitachino region, decided to devote its expertise exclusively to brewing beer. This gave birth to some of Japan’s most acclaimed and renowned craft beers. Hitachino DaiDai is brewed using carefully selected hops and the rare Japanese wild citrus Fukure mikan, cultivated naturally and organically at the foot of Mount Tsukuba. The result is a beer with a brilliant golden color, releasing fresh citrus aromas intertwined with floral and resinous notes from the hops. On the palate it is balanced, with medium body, intense fruity fragrance, citrusy freshness, and a refined bitterness that lingers in the finish. In short: a fragrant and sophisticated IPA, authentically Japanese. Alc. 6.2%, 330 ml.
Water, barley malt, hops, yeast, mandarin peel.
Another brewing gem from the Land of the Rising Sun: a one-of-a-kind IPA, thanks to the aroma of the rare Japanese wild citrus Fukure mikan.
