This is a special Japanese black tea, roasted following the hōjicha tradition.
Its producer, the family behind Kaneroku Matsumoto-en, aimed even in this case to create a flavored tea without any added ingredient, only using smoking, a the result is this balck tea, cultivated in the region of Shizuoka using the «chagusaba» method (with a mulch of grass), then smoked with sakura cherry wood chips, which give it a beautiful cherry wood aroma.
